Every bride wants to look absolutely breathtaking on her wedding day. After all, this is the event every little girl has been imagining and planning for a very long time, so, when the time arrives, expectations are high.
Choosing the right dress is key. Let’s take you through some simple but important steps to help and guide you to achieve the perfect look. Whether you are opting for a traditional theme, or an alternative style wedding, you want a gown that suits you, ‘’is you’’, showcasing your individuality and compliments your unique beauty and personality. Many brides feel overwhelmed, nervous and often reveal to us how daunting the prospect of wedding dress shopping is. WHY? Too many styles, widely varying price structures and the ever increasing media influences and opinions of who’s who in the bridal world. Our advice ------ KEEP IT SIMPLE --- and like many things for your wedding, always carefully consider your own individual taste and desires. Talking gowns, an experienced bridal consultant will listen and work with you through the process of finding the gown that makes you shine. 1. BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT Give yourself lots of time and make sure that your first appointment provides you with at least one and a half hours with your consultant. Don’t make several appointments with several stores on one day --- you will become overloaded. Don’t take too many people with you. This is one of the most important decisions you will make for your big day. Remember that you know yourself best --- you are choosing a gown for you and your own individuality --- one or two trusted friends or family members is best. Conflicting opinions or tastes can be more confusing than helpful. 2. START EARLY Whilst there are no set times when you should start shopping, it may be wise to start around 9 months before your wedding to allow time for delivery as well as any fitting adjustments. 3. TALK OPENLY Don’t be afraid to let your bridal consultant know absolutely everything you are looking for in you gown. 4. BE REALISTIC Sizing really does matter. Keep in mind that wedding gown sizes are not the same as regular clothing. You may find you will require a larger size in a wedding gown. 5. SETTING THE BUDGET It’s not the most pleasant part of planning the event of your life, but it’s really important to draw up an outline of your wedding budget ---- know your limits and then you can relax and enjoy all the good bits that make up your Big Day. 6. PAYING FOR YOUR GOWN You’ve found ‘’THE ONE’’. Now let’s make it happen and make it yours. It is important that you are aware that each dress is made to order, therefore once you have placed an order it cannot be cancelled or amended. A 50% deposit is required for all special order gowns.
